About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Figure out the next chapter of my life. For now, make ends meet in Baltimore.

ABOUT ME

I am a man who enjoys the simple things in life: Good coffee in the morning, delicious food shared with delicious people, a nice cold glass of beer, and the pleasure of reading a good book. Oh, and listening to good music in pretty much any occasion. I have traveled a fair amount, and so far those traveling experiences are some of the most memorable moments I've had thus far. I'm sort of stuck in Baltimore, MD at the moment, working the days away to pay the bills, but I would love to host folks! I'll be moving back in with Mi Madre in the coming months to capitalize on those savings. She essentially has a separate apartment unit attached to her house, which is furnished and would be a great place to crash on your journey through Baltimore!

I'm really interested in exploring new cultures, and learning about the history of the world so I can further understand why the world is the way it is.
PHILOSOPHY

So far all I know is that money is not the key to happiness. Friends make life awesome. We need to stop warming the earth so that I can keep snowboarding till my knees give out.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I started out my couchsurfing experience hosting people at my home in Olympia, WA and I immediately became addicted. Every surfer I've hosted were amazingly cool individuals.

I traveled to Europe in the summer of 2012 where I had my first experience surfing. Surfing is wayyyy cooler than staying in Hostels where you won't necessarily meet someone to hang with. I had nothing but 10/10 experiences with surfing, and hope to have many more in the future.

I moved to Baltimore, MD in August 2014 and haven't really been active in the couchsurfing community since. I'm hoping to makeup for lost time now though!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

CouchSurfing has made such a monumental difference in my life thus far. I have so far hosted three wonderful people that taught me all about where they came from, and I have surfed in Switzerland and Belgium, as well as met several amazing surfers who showed me around their hometowns. In addition to that, during my travels abroad I attended many CouchSurfing events where I met so many incredible individuals that instantly became life-long friends (I hope!). CouchSurfing is a wonderful community

Interests

I love to cook. I believe food is a great way to get people to come together. I love music. . I love meeting and getting to know new and wonderful people. I have a fondness for nature and science. I love knowledge, and I love picking smart people's brains. I like building things; I'm in the process of building my very own teardrop trailer. Also SNOWBOARDING. Love it. I work at Liberty Mountain Resort in PA as an adaptive snowboard instructor in the winter months.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love all sorts of music, though to pin a few of my favorite genre's down I would say Jazz, blues, rock, and electronic are some of my favorite genre's. I grew up playing the alto saxophone and the harmonica which nurtured my love for jazz and blues music. I've always been really excited to share my massive music collection with others and gather music from others as well.I enjoy many films, so it's tough to pick a favorite. I try to read as much as possible. I enjoy epic fantasy's such as Game of Thrones and Lord of the Rings. Although one of my favorite books is One Flew Over the Cookoos Nest by Ken Kesey. Currently I'm reading World War Z and the Forever War.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I would say the most amazing thing I've ever seen are the Mayan ruins in Belize. Although when I went to Segovia, Spain I was completely blown away by the perfectly intact aqueducts built in 1AD.

Backpacked across Europe solo and had a blast!

Climbed an 11,000 ft peak

visited 10 states (4.44%)Create your own visited map of The World or website vertaling duits?

Sky diving was pretty nuts too.

Teach, Learn, Share

This is a tough one. Usually I enjoy discussions about international affairs and historical perspective. It always helps to talk about these topics with folks from different countries to understand how the world fits together. I could teach you about science related things? Or just take you around the city to explore.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share food with my hosts. Normally, if time permits, I like have a little dinner party with the people I'm hosting so they can share food they like with food I like. This worked much better in college where I had roommates to add to the dinner festivities, but it could still be fun.

There is a washer/dryer available for use as well, and if you're staying in the apartment unit there is a kitchen/bathroom.

Countries I’ve Visited
