About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To be idle and have a happy life, rather than rush around and be too busy to enjoy it!

ABOUT ME

I'm a 31 year old part time student, studying the history of science and medicine and living in East London.

PHILOSOPHY

Blackadder: I'm as poor as a church mouse, that's just had an enormous tax bill on the very day his wife ran off with another mouse, taking all the cheese.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

By offering people the use of my couch. At the moment I am too ill to have couchsurfers around, as I need to rest and have quiet, but as soon as I am better I'll be inviting chaos and world travelers to my house to eat veggie bolognese.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have hosted lots of people, met couchsurfers and organised some of the couchsurfer social nights in my former home town of Lancaster.

Interests

Knitting and crafts, making my own clothes, guinea pig squeak appreciation, learning stuff, sitting in the sun, imagining, watching dvds, running people down in my wheelchair, being forgetful, enjoying not having to go to work, not enjoying when i can't move my arms, sleeping all day, drinking coffee,
reading, listening to Radio 4, writing (current topic, strange seaside attractions of bygone days), photography, reading comics, making things, bad jokes which no-one else laughs at, learning to play ukulele, baking cakes, making friends wear fake mustaches for my own amusement, anything kitsch, my collection of things in the shape of fruit which are also other things (for example banana maracas or pineapple shaped ice buckets)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most beautiful pink sunsets over the sea at Fleetwood. In early summer, when there are a few fluffy clouds to reflect the light, I could see the sunset beginning and rush from my house down to the beach with my flat mate and a bottle of wine to enjoy the free entertainment that nature provides.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'd like to learn another language and how to play ukelele properly. I can teach people how to knit. I think everyone should learn the art of the flaneur http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fl%C3%A2neur
