About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I love to travel and race as much as humanly possible. I really just want to see everything that I can while helping athletes become awesome.

ABOUT ME

I enjoy traveling and riding my bike. I try and go somewhere every weekend to ride my bike or race. I hope to meet some fun people on here and hopefully learn more about the cities that I visit.

PHILOSOPHY

To give back to the world around me. I am always pleased to help those that are around me and those that I meet as I travel throughout the world. Just ask all the animals that have passed through my home as rescues or the ones still hanging out. Each is named after a city I have found because of triathlon world championships to include "lil" Sunshine a songbird I found with a broken leg named for Sunshine Coast, Mandela the tuxedo cat named for Nelson Mandela Bay, Noosa and her brother Zell (Am See) my two Bombay kittens, and their "very old" sister Kona my little Shih Tzu rescue. There were also the ones who found other homes to include Mandela's brothers Nelson and Mooloolaba, as well as Zell and Noosa's siblings who were rescued before receiving names.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've surfed some couches over my travels; as far as fellow surfers from the site I have only hung out.

Interests

I am a certified nutrition and endurance sports coach so I love talking about this world. Before getting into endurance sports I have also worked as an instructor in the following: small boat sailing, backpacking, windsurfing, kayak camping, and other outdoor sports.

Music, Movies, and Books

Thanks to Hulu and Audible this is a near-impossible question!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once decided to go to Europe and a few hours later was on a one-way air force cargo flight to Germany for $4. Best time of my life as I backpacked around from country to country with no direction or established travel plans. Each day was an adventure as I found my way around and a place to crash.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you the basics about nuclear reactors (undergrad), project management (graduate school), the military, backpacking (former instructor), triathlon/racing (elite age grouper and coach) or weight lifting (former coach).

I would love to learn more about cooking, especially Italian foods.

Things I love to share are stories about traveling and race advice/mentorship
