Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To establish myself as a writer, continue to improve my Spanish language skills and also learn Italian. Also developing an alternative enterprise as a cultural and natural adventure guide in Chile! chileluz.com
ABOUT ME
I am a reluctant Gringo, and have evolved into a bit of a gypsy. By that I mean I try to be at home wherever I am. I am fairly intellectual, always probing the nature of reality, and this quest to find out what's really real has brought me to some interesting places conceptually, which I am now in the process of grounding out in my lived experience.
PHILOSOPHY
Attitude and experience are directly correlated. Giving and receiving are both equally beautiful. The world is waaaaay more alive than most of us realize.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I am pretty busy in the summer but sometimes am willing to host (better in the Spring or Fall) but I am always able to give recommendations for Yosemite.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have met some really great people through CS meet-ups, hosting, and travelling. Really enjoy the ease of connection with cool folk that I wouldn´t normally meet.

Music, Movies, and Books
Vintage 70's films and some of the art house new ones; music with soul; Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, Steinbeck, Tom Robbins, Jonathan Franzen, Louis de Bernieres, and of course travel writing-- Into the Heart of Borneo is really cool. I love to listen to all sorts of music, lately a lot of jazz, Steely Dan, ALO and Van Morrison, always.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have written, directed and produced a play. I have also fallen deeply in love and written and played music from the heart. I have seen people with virtually nothing give everything they have to others.
Teach, Learn, Share
I know a little bit about a lot of things. That's what Liberal Arts people do. I love discussions about possibilty, transformation of self that leads to transformation of communities and society. I like to make music, and can teach a little of that. I know a lot about living outdoors, and can share experience and knowledge of that realm, as well as offer up insights into the spiritual life. I would like to learn more about music.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Lots of stories, laughter and maybe a little universal insight.
Countries I’ve Visited
