Currently working on building my community engagement start-up, Civinomics, but would love to stay connected to the travelers scene however I can.

ABOUT ME

Whoa, "all about me"? Hmmm that's quite open ended...WELL, if you were to meet me, I think you'd see that I am a good natured, humorous, thoughtful person. I am a people person and I love bringing people together to have a good time, although I also believe like it's very important to spend one - on - one time with a person if I'm going to really get to know him or her.I always liked school, and I also got involved in bands through playing the trumpet, and I developed a love for going on backpacking camping trips. I went to UC Berkeley and studied Political Economy, and now I am preparing to start a credentialing program to become a public school elementary teacher.To give you a snapshot of how I currently enjoy spending my time, lately I've gotten really into cooking - I love cooking up pastas, sauteing chicken, Mexican food, pizzas, oh and I LOVE breakfast! Also, recently I've really gotten into riding bikes; I never realized that things are not are not actually so far away! A guilty pleasure of mine would have to be watching anime - good shows are Naruto, Bleach, and Soul Eater (actually writing this made me google an episode of Soul Eater! haha).OK! If you want to learn more about me you're going to have to meet me! (Or I guess you could just move on to the next column of information...that too).

PHILOSOPHY

Right now I like to ask myself several questions in order to center myself:

How am I being in this moment?

What would be best for me?

Am I being a victim or am I being responsible?

I also enjoy consciously acknowledging a high sense of self worth. Life is a lot better when I take the stand that I am WORTHY and DESERVING for no other reason other than BECAUSE I SAY SO.

I am constantly developing a deeper relationship with my own intuition.

I am a spiritual being having a human experience.

These are some fundamental life philosophy tenants of mine.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I just returned from a five month trip through Europe and had awesome experiences with couchsurfers! Â What an incredible way to experience a place. Â I look forward to keeping the spirit of traveling alive though hosting and hanging out with other travelers now that I am back home!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I couchsurfed a bunch while traveling though Europe June - November 2011. Â I am keen on continuing to stay in the traveler's mindset, as well as meeting new people and making connections, so now I get to host!

I LOVE techno right now - especially dubstep and music by artists like Pretty Lights. Oh man, love dancing to that stuff!

My favorite movie at the moment is Scott Pilgrim vs. The World with Michael Cera.

In the book world, my favorite Shakespeare play is Othello. Other favorite books are The Aneid, Paradise Lost, and The Killer Angels.

I'd have to say the Grand Tetons in Wyoming, California, are some of the most amazing mountains I have seen recently.

I think the most amazing thing I've done, lately, would have to be leading a group of ten high school students on an eleven day backpacking trip. Was definitely a big responsibility and I really learned a lot about myself from that.

I can teach you how to cook up a awesome pasta that will be delicious and that you can make a ton of and eat throughout the week!

Ingredients:

1 lb of ground turkey
1 box of rigatoni or penne pasta
1 bottle of marinera sauce
Spices - cayanne pepper (if you like it spicy, like me!), basil, garlic
Any other vegetables that go well with pasta, such as mushrooms, eggplant, onions.

Boil up the water with the pasta to your liking, sautee the ground turkey until it's cooked (no pink!), pour in the marinera sauce with the ground turkey as well as the spices to your taste. Mix the sauce with the cooked pasta and presto! Delicious, filling, and nutritious dinner that will feed an army and last a long time.
