Overview
About Me
I am currently cycling from Portugal to Hong Kong!
Hello, my name is Ron Ibarra, from Cuba (but I spent a lot of time in the states) I am a Graphic Designer / Architectural Drafter with a background in Web Content Management. I am a 26 years old lung cancer survivor who suffers from incurable wanderlust. I have asthma as a result of my treatment, but I do not let that stop me from cycling and living my life. Life should be spent doing something that you are passionate about and enjoying every second of being challenged. I look forward to meeting all of you and all of the places this journey will take me. I have always wanted to be more involved in my life and I could not think of a better way to do it.
I try to be conscious of what I eat, I prefer to eat Vegetarian, I do not smoke and I do not drink - its just a personal choice though, I strongly believe that making those changes has helped my body recover and become stronger. I do not mind people that indulge on their own believes :D
If you would like to know more about me please head on over to the website or social media! As well as my Warmshower Profile.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
There is always a great sense of satisfaction when you are able to help others, without reward involved, that show of human compassion is enough. Satisfaction that only humanitarian deeds can help you experience.
I was first introduced to couch surfing by my best friend Sean (https://www.couchsurfing.com/users/1241800/profile) when we did a bicycle tour of Ireland back in September 2014.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music:
I love music, and while I do have a wide range of taste, I tend to gravitate a lot towards Folk & Singer/Songwritters. Anything from Buena Vista Social Club, to Stu Larsen, to Daughter.

The Way of Zen by Allan Watts
The Architecture of Happiness by Alain De Botton
Movies:
Ratatouille, Cashback, Life in a Day, Jeux d'enfants, Una Noche...frankly, I love movies and will watch any movie :D
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Most people want to tell me that the most amazing thing I have done is my fight with cancer. I disagree. The most amazing thing I have done is leave my life behind, to travel around, aimlessly.
