About Me
Update: after a couple of years during which I was not able to access my profile I am back - yay! current mission is graduating, writing songs, touring with my new album (google Marion Fiedler - ROlling On to listen if you like!) and making travel plans. Lately I tour more than travel. I am excited to be back on CS! Unfortunately I cannot host at the moment. I am caring for an ill person.
CURRENT MISSION
Crossing Switzerland/France/Belgium by bike :-)
ABOUT ME
Update 2012: still graduating... I am sorry but I cannot host at the moment.
Update 2010:
wonderful things happening in Nashville, Dresden ...
My music projects are launched very successfully! Besides having wonderful opportunities to play great concerts we won some prizes!!! YAY MUSIC!!! My band is wonderful. I am surrounded by excellent musicians, and I am honored that they support me so much! If you want to listen to the new sound check: www.myspace.com/marionfiedler.
We had amazing visitors over, though I don´t live at one place for a long time before being back abroad or on the move again - nevertheless thank you so much dear visitors for sharing life with us. We loved having you over, and you are always welcome back!
(I LOVE couchsurfing!)
Update 2009:
Sept - Visiting Washington DC, the Blue Ridge Mountains (gosh I have missed them) and Williamsburg !!! Also, I have new music on www.myspace.com/marionfiedler
Safe travels to everybody!!!
SUMMER PLANS!!!! YEAH!
I will cycle in France, crossing it once, and work on a voluntary basis in Marciac assisting awesome Jazz musicians where I will have the chance to interpret for them, and yes, just help them forget about jet lags, cultural differences and make them enjoy the South of France - an awesome place to perform Jazz! I will see many different cities, speak French WHICH I LOVE and learn more about people and culture. I am studying French, but I guess that I will learn more than ever before in any class. That´s my experience with Couchsurfing. SO far I had awesome hosts, and I am very much looking forward to meeting more wonderful people on my way South, and North after having worked (well, internship) for JAZZ A MARCIAC.
I will come back to the States, too. I am very much looking forward to that. I will be traveling Washington DC and the BLUE RIDGE MOUNTAINS, and only God knows who I will meet on the way :-)
Don´t miss to check out my new blog that will tell you about my music. It is still VERY basic, I have not spent much time on it, and yeah, you can see it, but be assured that I spend more time than on anything else on my music:
Safe travels to y´all, and hopefully we will get to meet!
################################################
still in Europe, studying hard, writing music, growing spiritually, meeting people and facing life with all its facettes, enjoying Europe: people, culture, food, EVERYTING. Missing the US though (I was back over spring break... yeah!)
I have traveled in Belgium, France, the US, and Germany and I will keep on traveling: Prague, France/Provence, Belgium and who knows where I will be over the summer. I wish y´all safe travels!
after a crazy Christmas time (Dec 08) in Belgium I am now in Germany. Thanks to all of those great hosts in Brugge, Oostend, Brussels, Leffinge, Gent, ... Europe is great!!!
At the moment I am travelling. I am on a road trip with Lana Lee. We are crossing the US discovering this beautiful country. Our road trip mission is called Native Americans Nowadays... we are doing some research on the culture of the Native Americans. We have met awesome people. We have run into problems, but we have never been left without help. We REALLY appreciate this.
I have traveled a lot and enjoy exploring the world. I am studying music/languages and am passionate about Jazz. I enjoy being creative, active and relaxed though I never run out of ideas what to do next. Meeting new people is something that I enjoy very much, I am culturally very interested. Getting to know new people is like diving into a new culture and/or personality - very exciting.
I like reading and speaking foreign languages and never get bored even when sitting learning vocabularies. People describe me as being very disciplined. My bicycle trips, practicing music kind of everyday (piano, trombone, guitar, vocal jazz) and running marathons have coined me in a good way.
Cycling may be the sport I am born for, in general, I am a pretty active person.
Foodwise, I like eating vegetables - you should see my happy face when I eat my fresh french tomatoe salad! Or tomatoes in general... :-)
Last but not least: My friends play a very important role in my life. Hanging out with them is the best thing in the world! Also, I know that somebody else is up there who has guided me all my life and I am very blessed for my life.
UPDATES........ SUMMER 2008 ............. UPDATES
At the moment me and my research team travel in a car, sleep in the car/tent/couchsurfing/hospitalityclub. We started in Nashville - Atlanta - Charleston to Everglades, Florida, Texas, California, Coast up to Canadian border, crossing to the Great Lakes. We will go down on the East Coast to pay a visit to all the great places and exciting cities over there.
It did not quite work out, as the US is soooo big, but I want to use mainly back country streets (stopping as there is sth exciting like going hiking, swimming, etc and exploring important places, cities, ... whatever comes up).
Well. That's it. Safe travels for y´all!
UPDATE.... we are doing very well. At the moment we are staying in Phoenix, AZ. We picked up Matthias in Las Vegas meaning that now we are three on our team. We visited several Reservations and talked to people, we have seen a lot. Things that are great and people with amazing spirits, but also truths that are very sad. People that are so poor that you wished the money in the world would be split in a better way as lots of people have too much whereby whole groups of people like certain tribes in the far West suffer, not only on a financial level.
Well. I have to keep my eyes open. We have helped people and there is much to do, even when the trip is over.
We received help when we were trouble or when we needed a place to crash and get organized, again. We really appreciate your help and we are so happy to meet such awesome people along the way.
