About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to travel. to learn. to transcend.....

ABOUT ME

Well, I am originally from Juarez, Mexico, which is border town with El Paso, TX. I grew up as a "fronterizo" or one that occupies two worlds, two cultures, two languages, bi-cultural, and bilingual. I've done my share of traveling around the world, Europe, South Korea, Cuba, Mexico, and of course the US. I love to meet new people that are open-minded and love to travel, discuss ideas, art, culture, philosophy, etc, etc. I sort of travel all over the U.S. because of the job that I currently have. I will consider myself a photojournalist, and avid cyclist that uses the bike as a metaphor for life, or as another surfer called me, cyclophilosopher, or even a cyclophilosophotographer.. :D
..I am looking forward to continue to meet surfers from all walks of life..
UPDATE: UPDATE:
I left my gypsy job and went from traveling 12 months out of the year.. to just about 5 months.l. and I've settled in El Paso, TX now I am a full time photographer/blogger/entrepreneur looking for ways to invest my time and energy in worthwhile projects :)

PHILOSOPHY

I strongly believe in the idea that we all have a purpose in this life. Most of the time we are not completely clear on what that purpose is, but it is important to continue the journey that presents itself. I believe in making decisions and taking the opportunities that are presented to us in order for us to continue to grow and trace our own journey. I believe in respect to all sentient beings, respect for other cultures, languages, and diversity, most importantly, respect for ourselves as individuals.

I did some surfing in Philly and met amazing surfers there, and been hanging out with great surfers here in Lancaster PA.. then I went back to Queens and surfed there, then did more surfing in Chicago! hosted quite a bit of people there :) then met great, great surfers in St. Louis.. then... i met really great surfers in Austin who were very accomodating for last minute request, and who shared great experiences with me!
.its been quite a bit surfing lately.. little rock, cincinnati, pitsburgh, providence, cancun, montreal, milwaukee, chicago, minneapolis, salt lake city, reno, san jose, san francisco...
it's been awesome.. as simple as that.. great.. great people and amazing experiences..

Interests

first and foremost I am interested in life by just simply living enjoying the everyday good, bad and anything that makes you feel connected to the world. I also enjoy cycling at the very.. very.. very top :)

Music, Movies, and Books

there are plenty of musics, books, movies that i enjoy. I will mention a few that I can think of from the top of my head right now... manu chao...maldita vecindad... cafe tacuba.. jack johnson, zuco, Regina Spektor, the police.. gosh.. so many, good jazz, blues, classic rock, indie rock, spanish rock, alt rock, cuban hip-hop, regggae, too many genres and groups to mention..I feel the same way about books, jimmy santiago baca, victor villaseñor, freire, fanon, paz, bell hooks, gramsci, but there is so much great literature out there in so many different languages, time periods and genres. movies, again.. same thing.. i hate making a laundry list of movies i like, there are way too many of them, from requiem for a dream, cinema paradiso, el santo contra las momias de guanajuato, kite runner, pulp fiction, gosh.. where do you draw the line :D i enjoy film. good films. bad films. funny films. i don't consider a good movie, book or read bad based on reviews, i like to experience things myself and form my own opinions.
