Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Me As a Host:

I would love to offer folks a place to stay, but right now I'm living in a remote work camp in Alaska... it's hard to get here, but if you find yourself in Neets Bay, Alaska, population 10, then you will be in good hands! :) We shall hike and swim and watch movies and I will cook you dinner... and every other meal because there are no grocery stores or restaurants here. Welcome to the adventure!

Me As A Guest:

I love using Couchsurfing to stay with local people in the places I visit. I also use AirBnB (renting rooms from locals) and Warmshowers.org (only for bicyclists) when I travel. It's so much more fun than hostels or motels, and I find the experiences are more authentic and personable.
I was born and raised in Alaska, and have been traveling to other countries since I was very young. I love learning about other cultures and exploring.
I tend not to drink while traveling, and I don't smoke. I am allergic to some cats, but I still love them. And I love dogs!

Interests

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I volunteered on organic farms in Chile for 3 months in the fall of 2009. Patagonia is gorgeous, Amen.
Also, I bicycled alone across the United States: Oregon to Florida, 5000 miles through this beautiful nation in Fall of 2011!
