I’m Bill! I’m a Philosophy, Politics and Economics student; mad pub quizzer; gig goer; effective altruist and over thinker.

If there’s anything which you should know about me, it’s my tendency to overtalk about any subject, offer useless facts and draw examples up for how to use them.

My greatest passion at the moment is effective altruism (EA). It essentially asks, with all the suffering going on in the world, what can I do to maximise my individual impact and how do we measure how much good different organisations do. It’s something I hold deeply personal and wish to develop over my lifetime. If that’s confusing, think of it as data science + ethics.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love meeting new people and different life experiences - it’s what makes us. The community here is unbelievable and makes my heart wrench how people are willing to open up their homes and arms to others.

I currently am a UK Youth Ambassador for ONE as well as a member of the Effective Altruism. I can talk all day long about global health, ethics and that jazz.
