About Me
I speak no language without an accent... I guess that defines me quite well! :)
Originally from the Netherlands, I grew up in Spain and left 5 yrs ago. Since I lived in Melbourne, where I jumped into the abyss of Startupland (had dinner with Casey Fenton!). This year in April I moved to Indonesia and lived in Bali 6 months. Just left a few days ago to start a big trip around the world, mostly Central and South America. Vamos!
My family and friends often wonder where the heck I get my energy from, it's pretty endless... My passion for life and adventure keeps me going, particularly when I'm pushing my limits. The people I love would also describe me as a pretty chilled dude though :).
My love for Startups has a lot to do with the potential for social impact. I'm big on sustainability and building community, hence I founded the following organizations -> First: Ecoshift (bamboo bicycles). After I started TwoSpace (turning cafes and hotels into coworking spaces). Currently working on a Sailing platform for travelers to have a unique experience sailing around the world.
I'm a surfer, sailor and climber in my spare time. Actually, pretty much love all activities outdoors where you connect with nature. Love connecting with mother nature... :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm hitchhiking all the way from San Diego to ... Patagonia? Sleeping in wild places (couchsurf hosts, don't get too wild :) ), cooking on campfires, etc.
Why?
Go off the beaten track, but mostly get a deep understanding of the culture, mindset and lifestyle of the people I meet and connecting with awesome locals. I love sharing stories and learning through other people, as well as sharing everything I've learned over the past 31 yrs. Some of my closest friends have couchsurfed around the world, now it's my time to join this community :).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Last year I sailed around Vanuatu for a while with a friend. Anchoring at remote islands where no tourists ever go, getting warmly welcomed by the local tribes, having Cava (root extract) with them over a conversation about life... That was something else!
