About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To enjoy life and he happy. More travel needed.
ABOUT ME
My friends call me easy-going, fun, talkative, generous, friendly, and sometimes a work-aholic (with tea-breaks)
PHILOSOPHY
Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. I'm not a religious chap, but that's not a bad philosophy. Be tolerant, and be prepared to forgive. Not everyone can be as perfect as you!! Enjoy life while you can. You never know what's around the corner. DON'T be too tight with money. Remember, no-one every got to the "Pearly Gates" and wished they had spent more time in the office!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Can offer a very peaceful rural location about 20 minutes from Tauranga, on the Pyes Pa road towards Rotorua. No buses go past, but if I have the time I can often be persuaded to pick up a couch surfer from Tauranga.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
The couch surfers I have hosted have been a real pleasure to have. From the first meeting we seemed to get on, and I have thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Charlotte's memory is like a sieve - I think by the time she returns to Switzerland she will have nothing left!! I still have her toothbrush, toothpaste and have just located her tobacco!
Interests
MUSIC, especially drumming, percussion, spoons... folk music, folk festivals, beers with mates, MOTORBIKES (fast and loud), My House Truck (old and loud), my dog, learning italian, fiddling about with machinery...

Music, Movies, and Books
Seem to get busier as I get older - or maybe I am working at a slower pace?! I like autobiographies of interesting people - stories that inspire. Not that I seemto have that much time to read. Like action movies and a good comedy. Music? Well love the irish music, also bluegrass, and classical. HATE the "Doof Doof" mindless loud music the young'uns play!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Going over a cliff on a motorbike - and not dying
Playing the spoons in a wee Irish pub with fantastic instrumentalists, during breaks in drinking Guinness
Bungy jumping
Teach, Learn, Share
I have been involved in the past with teaching people the safe use of agrichemicals. I really enjoy teaching, and enjoy speaking at gatherings - as long as I can inject some humour. I even got clapped when I spoke at a funeral once. Maybe a bit too much humour??!!
