About Me
I love the following: travel, reading (both fiction and nonfiction), the arts in general, parties, good conversation, diverse dining experiences and meeting new people worldwide.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I like the concept. It is social, friendly, and clearly helps make more travel possible for individuals of modest means. My specialty, as a travel consultant, is cost-cutting travel strategies.

Music, Movies, and Books
My taste in music is truly eclectic: Jazz, classical, R&B (mostly the classics, not much of the current crop), rock (especially, classic rock), classic American folk music, blues, a bit of country and more. I've been enchanted by some of the music from Latin America, Ireland, South Africa and other parts of the world.
My taste in movies is also broad. A few of my favorites are: Pulp Fiction, La Strada, Never Forever, My Man Godfrey, Design for Living, The Color Purple, Witness, The Remains of the Day, One Night Stand, Donnie Brasco and Training Day. There are many more.
A few favorite books are: Huckleberry Finn (from childhood), Hawaii, To Kill a Mockingbird, The Heart is a Lonely Hunter, Another Country, Morning of the Magicians and Tobacco Road.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Years ago, I started a flyer distribution company without investing a single penny. Within a year, it was generating enough income to finance two vacations.
Teach, Learn, Share
I teach The Art of Discount Travel. The name was coined for a consumer-oriented seminar I first outlined in the late 80's. I am interested in learning about other cultures, the advances in science and technology, music and more. When I move out of my studio into bigger quarters, I will be willing to share my home with couchsurfers. Meanwhile, I am open to meeting visitors and sharing knowledge of my city.
