About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Start a new career in Industrial/Organizational Psychology!
ABOUT ME
I am a quirky, ex roller derby playing, Spanish folk dancing, recent grad. I am beginning my new career in Memphis and you can help!
For a living, I've washed hair at an upscale salon, hawked papers at O'Hare International Airport, took endless customer service calls at multiple companies, mucked kennels at a vet, and spent 5 years at Starbucks and 11 years at Springfield Business Journal. My latest career - Industrial/Organizational Psychology Practitioner.
I have learned to love cooking, science, history, woman, beer (!!), sushi, traveling, Uno, meat & cheese, dogs, my hair blonde [although it's currently brunette], heels, silence, electricity, strapless bras, dresses, and fire pits. I have learned to pitch a tent, skip rocks, do cartwheels, use a computer, do Pilates, forgive my parents, lift free weights, listen, gleek, do yoga, drive a stick, get rid of hiccups, run for fun, and graciously accept compliments. My most recent endeavors include grad school and learning to ride a motor cycle.
I've helped make 4 new American citizens. I've danced traditional Spanish, Mexican, Columbian, Cuban, Peruvian, and Brazilian music on stage many times [and still do...] and have been in a small local movie. I've learned to know and love myself and most importantly, I've found my passion and the love of my life.
PHILOSOPHY
Extrovert seeks noisy place to sit and be by self. My philosophy revolves around kindness - treat people with kindness even when being assertive.
Mission 2013:
(1) Be a good wife and a better sister/family member.
(2) Learn more about Judaism and G*d.
(3) Find a job! (DONE)
(4) Become a more proficient roller derby player.
(5) Help the city as a member of the Mayor's Commission for Human Rights.
(6) Eat healthier with a plant-based diet.
(7) Become a better Latin American folk dancer.
(8) Laugh < Stress

Music, Movies, and Books
I love all music except Jazz with no words... It makes me nervous! I love going to the cinema but don't make it too often. As far as books are concerned, I prefer non-fiction - science, pychology, etc.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I’ve spent almost 15 years in Missouri, 13 years in college [off and on], 1 month in Puerto Rico (que viva!!!!), 2 weeks in Korea, 2 weeks training it across the U.S., and 2 different weeks in Mexico.
I’ve climbed ancient Mayan pyramids in Mexico and up the side of mountain to a traditional Buddhist temple in Korea. I’ve been in 24 of the 50 states. I’ve seen Niagara Falls, the Grand Canyon, the Colorado Rockies, Mount Rainer, Sedona, and the sunset on the Pacific Ocean. (And almost the sunrise on the Atlantic Ocean...darn my lazy self!)
