About Me

I have diverse musical tastes and appreciate cultures different from my own. When traveling, I prefer mixing with local citizens in their local communities and experiencing the real culture of the nations I visit

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

As much as I would love to host, I live in a small bachelor pad. I am willing to entertain with food, drink, and tours.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am deeply inspired by my first experience where my hosts in Ecuador, Peru, and Venezuela set examples on how to do my part to help fulfill the mission of Couchsurfing International. The same love that was extended to me, I want to extend to others.

However, before Couchsurfing International was born, I surfed in Cuba, The Philippines, and Singapore through personal contacts.

Interests

My primary reason for travel, particularly to Latin-American countries, was to improve my Spanish of which I'm self-taught. In addition, I love history, cultural exploration, and music. My musical tastes include bachata, baroque, classical, jazz, Latin jazz, kompa, merengue, opera, rhythm & blues (old school), zouk, and salsa,

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I taught myself Spanish out of a book and made friends with Spanish-speakers who helped me to develop my Spanish. In addition, I've visited nine Spanish-speaking countries having immersed myself in Spanish and local cultures.

Teach, Learn, Share

If you come to New York City, I'd love to accompany you to wherever you want to go and see.

I wish to learn Latin-American courtesy/manners. For example, when I was in Perú, someone advised me that when I walk into a place of business or approach someone on the street for information, I first greet them with buenos días, buenas tardes, or buenas noches before discussing whatever business I need to discuss.

I'm also willing to help improve ones English-speaking skills like I did with one of my couchsurfing hosts in Venezuela.

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, China, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Japan, Mexico, Panama, Peru, Philippines, Singapore, United States, Venezuela

Countries I’ve Lived In

Philippines, United States
