CURRENT MISSION
Solutioneering on weekdays, hiking and swimming on weekends!
ABOUT ME
I'm an under-natured New Yorker who enjoys the fine art of talking to strangers. For years my friends and I have been sitting in blue lawn chairs at busy intersections in the city with a "Talk to Me" sign, just to talk to strangers and see what they have to say for themselves. It's our attempt at a front porch in a city that doesn't have enough of them. Then we went around the country with a "Talk to Me" sign for a year on our bicycles, doing the same thing.
I work at the Clinton Global Initiative in New York City, working on issues ranging from climate change to global health, from microfinance to digital education.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Although I’ve traveled for years (mostly on bicycle), I formally couch surfed for my first time in Burlington, VT and the Adirondacks, one of my favorite corners of the country, and then pretty much got hooked from there.
Interests
Urban kayaking, talking to strangers, hiking whenever possible, good ideas, used books, subways, piano, Gershwin, Liszt, sustainable development, organic farming, leapfrog technologies, bike lanes.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Let's see, the three things that pop into my head are 1) serving as a spontaneous doula for a friend about to give birth (having no training myself whatsoever); 2) spending Hurricane Irene on rollerblades with a small parachute attached to myself (that I could release, of course...); and 3) becoming fairly hooked on polar bear swimming each January at Coney Island.
