About Me
Hello! I've just finished studying in Edinburgh and I am an avid traveller.
I was lucky enough to live in Madrid for six months last year and it gave me a renewed drive to travel and sample the diverse ways of life that exist outside of my narrow UK bubble.
I tend to be very laid back although I find speaking to people super engaging and love learning new things, in particular languages. I am tidy, respectful and independent-minded.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Couchsurfing seems to be a great way to authentically experience a new place without having to go through too many of the motions of a baffled tourist. Why have an anodyne Airbnb experience when you can live with a local?
I love meeting new people and, while I don't currently have room to host as I'm back and forth a lot, look forward to hosting when I'm more settled!
Interests
I love being in hot countries, playing piano, having friends round for dinner, making things with my hands and listening to music as loud as my neighbours permit.
Music, Movies, and Books
I'll read anything by Annie Proulx, and many of my favourite books have been about people living in vast, untamed landscapes (A Bend in the River; The Grass is Singing; Close Range: Wyoming Stories; The Voyage Out).
A few of my favourite artists are Erykah Badu, Chaka Khan, Brandy, Jill Scott, Kamaiyah, Kate Bush (obv), Wookie, Murlo, Perfume Genius, Kelela and Joanna Newsom, but I'll listen to most things.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can teach you piano/talk superficially about queer studies/cook a mean Thai green curry...
