Hey my name is Billy, I graduated from UW Stevens Point with a degree in Geography and Adventure Education. I wrestled on the wrestling team there was a Scholar All American, Im an outdoor junkie I love Mountain Biking, Rock Climbing, Hiking, Whitewater Rafting, Free diving, and meeting new people while doing it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Meeting locals is the best way to experience a place. Its the same reason I take my time everywhere I go. Also same reason I hitchhike. When you meet locals you actually get a feel for what a place is like. Not just the tourist traps that most people go to. Also it helps you develop a personal connection with a place.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was an ocean kayak guide in Alaska. I also did whitewater rafting tours while I was there. Hitchhiked all of New Zealand. Seeing the northern lights in Alaska. Was a guide in Hawaii. Spent 7 months living in a van in Hawaii. Climbed Glaciated mountain. As well as just he run of the mill glaciers. Exploring remote canyons in Zion National Park, Utah.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have knowledge of many plants and how they grow. As well as endless trivia about Geography and how it ties into really every subject in the world. I also love teaching people obscure facts about history and outdoor related things. Knowledge about outdoor survival, Knowledge of knots. Basic plumbing knowledge.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Knowledge about growing certain crops. Also being a farmer I am quite skilled at fixing just about anything. I would also love to teach you about climbing or other outdoor related activities.
