I'm a soon-to-be graduate from New York University, where I studied journalism and politics. I'll be taking a short trip to Poland and Oslo as a sort of graduation present to myself, and am hoping to meet new people!

Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing

I'll be visiting Oslo and Warsaw in late May, and hope to meet cool people while I'm there! I'll be on my own for most of this time, and Couchsurfing seems like a new and different opportunity to get to know a new place!

Unfortunately, at this time I'm unable to host people at my Brooklyn apartment (my living situation is uncertain in this immediate post-graduation era), but I hope that will change soon!

Centres d'intérêt

Career-wise, I'm especially passionate especially about city planning and local politics. I also love music, and play guitar (along with other instruments). My favorite thing to do in a new city is wander around its neighborhoods, ride around on public transit, and have drinks outside. More recently, I've gotten into both cooking and photography (you can see some of my work at billyrichling.com).

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

This changes constantly, but as far as books go, I've recently I've been working my way through Roberto Bolaño's work. Of the movies I've watched recently, the one that struck me most was an indie flick called Copenhagen (it's on Netflix!). And music-wise, I've recently fallen in love with Brazilian samba music (Paulinho da Viola is my go-to these days).

Enseignez, apprenez, partagez

I'm happy to give guitar lessons, or talk US/American/global politics (respectfully). I also love cooking, and can contribute on that front. I'm also more than happy to contribute to any cleaning or maintenance work around the house! Also, if you need a native English speaker for anything, I'm your man.
