About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Find the simplicity in beauty...the beauty in simplicity....wander, write and do stuff.
ABOUT ME
Living in Cockermouth and working in a couple of places across the county teaching film.
PHILOSOPHY
Take it easy.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
The couch is definitely free. It's all about trust.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've been informally couchsurfing since the dawn of time...but since being on this site...a trampoline in the middle of the desert was probably tops. literally too when it got REALLY bouncy.
Interests
wandering, writing, colours, time, film, poetry, stars, wild stuff, crazy places, art, ruins, folklore. I like most things that end in 'ing' and if they involve being outside with nature they're usually ten times better. Meeting someone that you really get on with also has to be among the best. I like the size of the world...not too big, not too small, and how much stuff there actually is here. Finding the best way to experience it all with spontaneous adventures is the way forward.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movie-wise...westerns, sci-fi, noir, European cinema...I will watch anything, but if I had to narrow it down...Vertigo, Stalker, The Third Man, My Darling Clementine, The Good the Bad and the Ugly, Seven Samurai, All That Heaven Allows, Marketa Lazarova, Unforgiven, Blade Runner, La Jetee...too many. TV wise, Star Trek, Spongebob and 80s kids cartoons never fail. Books, Janet Frame, Thomas Hardy, Bukowski, Terry Pratchett, I love poetry. I'm also partial to Treasure Island, The Wind in the Willows and The Lorax. Music...Dylan, Neil Young, Morricone, My Morning Jacket, Lambchop, Pink Floyd...anything with a psyche or folky vibe, I also love jazz and discovering different music from across the world.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
A wild wolf, feet away...also all sunsets.
Teach, Learn, Share
I reckon people shouldn't set out to learn something specific...it's a bonus when you come out of a situation having learnt something new. Keep the doors open, as it were. Surprises are the best...I'm not saying I have nothing to 'teach/learn/share' but....you know what I mean :op
