About Me
CURRENT MISSION
to love as selflessly as a tree gives shade.
ABOUT ME
I am a regular human being. I'm convinced we're all still children, pretending to do grown up things since our bodies grew up. I travel primarily by bicycle and foot, and I feel naked without musical instruments nearby. I studied philosophy (metaphysics primarily) at uni, but I'm planning on going back to study math or computer science. I am now searching for the best way to contribute to the changing world. I am interested in permaculture, robotics, music theory, and story telling. I believe in barefootedness and that music can save us all. I don't believe in coincidence or mistakes.
PHILOSOPHY
Think. Everything is beautiful.
This means that if it's not beautiful, you have forgotten something about it. If it's not good, it's not finished. If it's not perfect, you can still contribute.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I went on a bike/music tour and couch surfed for almost two weeks straight. Without those hosts, our trip would have been impossible. We learned, laughed, and shared a lot together. Why isn't our culture more open to picking up hitch hikers and housing vagabonds? Now that I'm an au-pair, I am a full-time guest and am more grounded to a certain place, but I have the freedom to travel on the weekends.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
During a 450 mile bike ride around Virginia, we surfed on a few couches and good times were had by all. My church community in Virginia almost always had a lovely couchsurfer staying at someone's home.
Interests
Unanswerable questions, computer algorithms, permaculture, changing the global economy and culture to one less obsessed with throwing things away. Also, dancing, singing, trees, cooking, theater and acting.

Music, Movies, and Books
Yes, yes, and yes.
Films: Foreign, indie, horror (the cheesier the better), and anything in black & white.
Music: Ani DiFranco, Sufjan Stevens, Regina Spektor. Anything with a purpose.
Favorite books: The works of H.G. Wells, The Tao Te Ching, The Torah, children's books, things by JRR Tolkien, Steinbeck, George Orwell.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I ate wild blackberries directly from the vine. Every time I do that, it's the best thing in the world.
Teach, Learn, Share
I study religions and know a thing or two about many of them and the cultures that produced them. I also like teaching people to knit. I can also teach you a few chords on the guitar, mandolin, or piano. If you want to get better English, I can certainly help you there.
