ABOUT ME

I've gone from birth through undergrad in Ann Arbor, Michigan, having recently finished my degree in film.
It's about time I get out of there (although it's a lovely town I look forward to returning to on visits) and I'm moving to Los Angeles this summer.

I rock climb and run for fun.
I freelance direct shorts and music videos at the moment.
I love movies, but I'm usually too busy making them to watch as many as I'd like to.
I love foods of all kinds except cheese, which everyone thinks is kinda weird but I just can't stand the stuff.
I love exercise, playing sports, hopping right in and doing things, and adventuring, but I'm also pretty comfortable just reading or writing on my own.

PHILOSOPHY

Sometimes, when you read a really incredible book or watch a fantastic movie - the one in a thousand kind - you get this feeling at the end as if, just for a few minutes, life makes a little more sense, as if some wisdom beneath it all has revealed itself to you, just for the moment.
Then it fades away and life resumes normally.

I've always hoped that if I could someday make a film that does that, it would mean that I really had that bit of wisdom figured out, and that things would make that kind of sense all the time.

So I guess you could call it looking for answers. Or maybe just the questions.
But the hope is that some day I can make that movie that makes other young impressionable kids want to figure out their life as well.

And also treating people like human beings. That's pretty important to me too.

I've been on a bit of a couchsurfing hiatus the past few years, but I'm hoping to get back into it.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've hosted a handful of times and had a good time with it, but never actually crashed. I'm in between places right now, but still love the community.
