PHILOSOPHY

Whilst living in China I realised that the thing I missed most about England was the culture of cynicism, piss-taking and general misanthropy. This was best observed in a conversation at a bar in Shenyang when I'd not met an Englishman for about three weeks. I was having a conversation with someone about their beliefs as a Creationist when a man from Lincoln, having heard part of the conversation, decided to join in. His contribution consisted mainly of the immortal line 'I respect your right to hold your beliefs so long as you respect my right to mock you for them'. I laughed. Instant best mate.

Interests

Music, cooking (Italian and Chinese being my favourites), literature, allotmenteering, trying to learn mandarin, I enjoy going on long cycles, being an indiekid (satchels, cardigans and everything else that entails), reading the Guardian/Observer, having a love of music that pretty much includes a bit of everything.
