ABOUT ME

I don't really know what to write here, I am definitely a devil's advocate so you may find yourself in an hourlong debate with me, only to find out at the end that I actually in my heart of hearts agree with you. I have many opinions, most of which are subject to change. I like to make things. I like to make films and projects that have a real old-fashioned feel. I love the way things were, or how they seem when you read about them. Not very concerned in being original because the nature of so much is derived from something else. But when originality happens, I believe it is when the person least expects it.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I participate by hosting when I can, even though London isn't the ideal place, in terms of space, to be hosting. I want to surf a lot more though. Tried it once in Azerbaijan and was blown away by how awesome and fulfilling it was. That host is now really like a brother to me. I hope the family gets bigger!

When it comes to music I am extremely open-minded but if I'm ever the dj all you will hear is a progression of beautiful African American music starting with the ragtime of Scott Joplin to the jazz of Duke Ellington to the gospel of the Dixie Hummingbirds to the soul of Mr. James Brown to the undeniable peak of all music FUNK, spearheaded by George Clinton of Parliament & Funkadelic and Sly Stone of Sly & the Family Stone. After the amazing FUNK we slide into the modern funk of Prince to the hip-hop of Run DMC and that's when I stop, haha.

Who needs books when ya got funk?
Nah, but for real mostly into historical books and autobiographies. Sci-Fi always rocks.

ALSO, I am a major fan of the 1950's television show, The Twilight Zone.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

While couchsurfing in Azerbaijan, we went to Xinaliq, a small 4000 year old village in the mountains. It was beyond anything I had ever imagined.

As a young teenager, stayed out all night and ended up standing and listening to the Black Israelites (a very radical sect of Christianity that believes white people are the devil). After 7 or 8 hours I actually earned some respect, that was amazing at the time
