About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Figure out a path to put all my skills together to make life better for people/planet. And stay somewhere long enough to grow a vege garden.
ABOUT ME
Loves:

PHILOSOPHY
I need to live so that when I get eaten by a tiger at the age of 40 I'll be able to say to myself that I did the best I could. And helped some people.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
We host when we can - not living somewhere we can host right now though. We've made some amazing friends through CS and hope to make some more wherever we end up.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Where to start... the incredible generosity of strangers always restores my faith in humanity. THIS is why we travel.
Interests
Learning stuff I don't know (so, pretty much everything!), art, music, agricultural development and GIS (geeky I know), cooking, eating, hiking, climbing rocks, patting stray cats...
My boyfriend whom I am travelling with is keen on parallel constraints programming (even geekier), photography, cooking, eating, hiking, climbing rocks, patting stray cats (see why we're together?)...

Music, Movies, and Books
Where to start? Salman Rushdie, Coen brothers' films, Hemmingway, I want to be David Attenborough when I grow up.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hitchhiked/Trained/Boated/Bussed down the length of Norway after doing the Kungsleden in Northern Sweden in midsummer. Hiking in daylight at midnight is amazing! Mind the mozzies though...
Teach, Learn, Share
I can make bread! I can knit! Hmm. I can play various instruments including the piano, recorder, treble recorder and flute! I can milk cows! I can tell you about rice cultivation in Sri Lanka! I can perform PCR and T-RFLP on soil bacterial and fungal DNA! Or perhaps build a biomimetic scaffold to encourage osteoblast formation for spinal fusion? I cannot wiggle my ears though, and would like to learn.
Countries I’ve Visited
Australia, Cambodia, China, Estonia, France, Japan, Malaysia, Norway, Sri Lanka, Thailand, United Kingdom, United States, Viet Nam
Countries I’ve Lived In
Nepal, New Zealand, Singapore, Sweden
