About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Living & breathing happiness; happiness in living & breathing

ABOUT ME

I'm fun, outgoing, energetic, and always looking for an adventure. I tend to think things through with logic rather than with heart, but am also a very passionate person filled with ambition. I'm a hard worker and would definitely be described as someone who's always on the go, but like to enjoy the simple things in life, including anything from meeting at a cafe with friends to traveling around the world. Most of all, I love meeting people from anywhere and everywhere and have an overall easy going, open minded spirit.

PHILOSOPHY

work hard, play harder. no regrets if you make each moment count.

Interests

Something that usually grabs people's attention is that I am currently graduating undergrad a year early while studying my last semester in Sevilla, Spain and am attending graduate school at a college of optometry in the fall in NYC, but have been working as a professional Bollywood dancer with AATMA performing arts since 2010 while attending school. I have a passion for dance (of all styles, classic, modern, cultural) and have travelled to various cities nationally and internationally for performances, which only deepened my love for travel. I spend most of my time back home attending dance practices every weekend for my professional troupe or performing at both paid or unpaid events for various company's including BravoTV, SONY Entertainment, etc. During the week I work hard at school and hold practices for my collegiate dance team which also competes internationally, and of course in between I spend LOTS of time with friends and family! Here in Spain, I spend most of my time exploring the city with friends, traveling, or even just meeting locals for drinks. A great change of pace from my busy life back home, but each has it's upside!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One major moment in my life was meeting my host family that I'm currently living with in Spain for the very first time. Seeing their home and realizing that it would be my home was unreal, forcing me to actually grasp that I would be living and breathing spanish culture and language for the next four months. While culture shock is normal for everyone, I've never been so thoroughly submerged in a sudden lifestyle change, and even with things that would be normally considered unacceptable in the U.S., I was able to see from a new light. I was able to see everything as all part of the experience, and told myself to cherish each and every moment while studying here in Spain because it wouldn't be a moment I'd ever get back. And while it may not have been long ago, since then, it's pretty much how I see every moment of my life, just so grateful for everything I experience everyday, learning and growing as time passes.
Another moment that left me awestruck was walking off of the hydrofoil from Naples onto the beautiful island of Capri. It was absolutely breathtaking and words will never suffice describing how gorgeous the landscape and water is. Aside from the undeniable beauty of the island, it was in Capri that I fully gaged how much I loved traveling, not just for the vacation aspect but for just understanding cultural difference, meeting locals, and realizing that there are just so many more people/lifestyles in the world aside from the bubble I live in back in the Tristate area of the U.S. As I watched this clearly mid/late 70 year old man husk up a sail on his boat, I started thinking about how we get so caught up in our own lives and melodramas that we forget how to appreciate everything and everyone the world has to offer. It was on this little Italian island that I found myself thinking, "and to think everyday that I wake up and go to school like a robot, and here in Capri is sailor with years of experience, venturing out into the island blue water with a story of his own that I'll never know". It's a simple concept, obviously the world is huge, but it was in that moment after 21 long years that the idea hit home just a little harder.
