ABOUT ME
Hello, I can't seem to leave Barcelona. I left to live in Chile for a year, where I learned to like red wine and decipher Chileno. Then, like a bad penny, I came back to the Catalan capital. I even managed to find a room that didn't cost a million euros and where I don't have to look out at an elderly neighbour hanging out his pants.
I work as an English teacher and also write for magazines.
Long term mission is to live by the sea with an over-enthusiastic dog with a wet nose.
PHILOSOPHY
“A wise traveler never despises his own country.” Carlo Goldoni
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I don't have a couch but I know all the best places in Barcelona for seafood, tapas and mojitos.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've written three magazine articles about Couchsurfing:
http://matadorabroad.com/how-to-couchsurf-without-a-couch/
http://www.revolver-magazine.com/travel/59-travel/506-couchsurfing-chilean-style.html

The Santiago CSers in Chile took me under their wing and showed me a good time. Marvellous people the lot of them.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've had my aura cleansed in Mexico. I've cycled 550km across Vietnam with a dodgy tum. I've waited more than 2 hours to be served in a bank in Santiago without killing myself or others. I've got Pete Doherty on stage on time. I've worked with violent offenders in Strangeways prison. I've helped out at a dog shelter in Chile.
Teach, Learn, Share
Well, I am an English teacher. I worked in the music industry in the UK, so I know a lot about obscure indie bands. I speak Spanish. I can cook. I can say Red Lorry Yellow Lorry really fast without messing it up.
My number one ambition is to learn to surf.
