About Me
CURRENT MISSION
bring the ruckus.
ABOUT ME
I study the quantitative genetics of human brain evolution, which means I am a nerd at least on the inside, though I like to think of myself as socially well-adjusted. And slightly self-deprecating. I spill coffee on myself regularly. I enjoy awkwardness a little bit too much. I am chainsaw, wilderness first aid, and SCUBA certified. I manage to get myself into ridiculous situations more frequently than I think most people do. I spill red wine on myself almost as much as I do coffee. I aim to travel as much as possible and have random, exciting, and ideally bizarre experiences, especially when I should probably instead be augmenting my resume. On a related note, I highly recommend backpacking South America if you have 6 months of your life that you are willing to commit to being a degenerate and honing your skillz in tolerating cheap bathtub aguardiente.
PHILOSOPHY
My mom adds rum into everything she cooks. I think it's the key to deliciousness. That and capsaicin. The key to life I am still working on...
I am just out to meet friendly fun cs people and get to know this city better through the eyes of other people.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Summoning as much ridiculousness as desired for to aid your splendrous visit to Nelly's home turf.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have yet to surf myself (ikr??) but have co-hosted a large number of csers with my bf at his place, and have loved everyone I have hung out with. I met a bunch of csers during my travels abroad in the past, and hope to meet more here in the States.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Falling off of Machu Picchu and nearly dying but instead being bedridden for a week in rural Peru, making random friends with South American grannies who open their doors and liquor cabinets to gringas, horseback-hiked Ireland, wildnerness first aid, SCUBA, and Wildfire Chainsaw certified… Essentially my life is preparation for the zombie apocalypse. I even dissect brains for a living.
Teach, Learn, Share
I am into my 3rd year in graduate school studying evolution, so I'd say I know quite a lot about that.
I am interested in learning about most things! For serious. My thirst for knowledge leads me to many a late night clicking on my pre-programmed Stumbleupon toolbar and read about rare medical conditions. I would like to expand this facet of expertise to include whatever you might have to offer.
