Overview
About Me
I moved to NYC to get my masters degree on mechanical engineering at Columbia University. After graduation, I started working for a consulting company. Most of my work involve working on tall buildings in NYC and how to save energy on them. I currently spend most of my time outside of work with my friends. I love biking and if I am not meeting some friends that day after work I bike along the Hudson for a couple of hours. I love outdoor sports like skiing, biking, hiking and running. Unfortunately not anymore but I have dedicated four of my life to paragliding and I would love to get back on that.
I'm an active member of a mountain club currently and what we mostly do is to go camping, climbing and hiking. Currently, my new goal is to conquer all the 46 peaks of Adirondacks.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Well, when I first traveled Europe years ago as a college student, I really enjoyed meeting people from all around the world. Also, my first home in New York was a community called the International House where 700 people from everywhere that you can think of lived together. I feel like these experience has a very positive impact on me. I am on Couchsurfing because I believe it's a great platform and I would be happy to help people enjoy their stay in NYC as I did during my trip across Europe..
Interests
I love hiking, skiing and being out on the nature. I am a member of a mountain club and I go on hiking trips with them on some weekends. Before I moved to US I was part of the paragliding team of my university and I spent a lot of my time on that for about 4 years. In general if I am in the city, I would be out with my friends most probably at a bar of some kind.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Muse, Pink Floyd, Parov Stelar, Frank Sinatra, Buena Vista Social Club, Beatles, Animals, Gogol Bordello, The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Amsterdam Klezmer Band, Goran Bregovic, Blind Guardian, Jil is Lucky, Scorpions, Mozart, Tchaikovsky, Listz and many more. I like music in general for sure except for club music. That music kind of sucks.
Books: Love reading about history and novels based on real events that I can have some connection with nowadays. Lately I am obsessed with Bill Bryson's book "A Walk In the Wood" where he shares his experiences hiking the Appalachian trail which is a 2100 mile hike.
Movies: All Guy Ritchie movies but favorite ones are Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and Snatch. Also a big fan of The Big Lebowski. Other than that, Reservoir Dogs, Inglorious Bastards, Schindler's List, Godfather, Pulp Fiction, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (last scene is a masterpiece), For a Fistful of Dollars, Fight Club, No Country for Old Men, Groundhog Day, Amadeus, Pianist are the ones that comes to my mind at first. TV: Friends, True Detective, HIMYM, Breaking Bad, House of Cards, Game of Thrones, Narcos, Sopranos...
