About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Immerse myself in the cultures of Central and South America (Mexico, Guatemala, Colombia, Ecuador), develop conversational Spanish speaking skills, volunteer/ participate in a work exchange in conservation, education, yoga/ healing arts, or permaculture, open up and engage in meaningful interactions and positive relationships with the people and places I visit.

ABOUT ME

I was born and raised in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and grew up spending summers on Long Island, New York with my Grandma, where I developed a love for the water and sailing. As a youth I went on many adventures with my family outdoors, which instilled a love of nature, science, and history in me. I appreciated the rewards of a long hike or road trip to a beautiful outlook, old ruin, or a natural hot spring.

My home is steeped in enchantment, it's in our state motto, this is afforded by the diverse histories and traditions of Spanish and Indigenous culture of the area. The geography of the landscape is reminiscent of the of vast ocean that once covered the land in pre-historic times leaving large mesa peaks, big caves, and flat plateaus. These features have inspired me since an early age in my curiosity about our social/ environmental landscape, diversity, conservation, and sustainability. They have filled me with an appreciation and wonder for how it all evolved, where humanity is going, and the best hopes for our future.

I'm am currently working on creating an environmentally progressive media company to inspire action to restore balance to the natural world and combat climate change.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I welcome the creativity and opportunity that arises when people commune together. I believe we share a lot in common when we let go of our differences, and too that we have much more to offer when we open up. I hope to establish friendships beyond cultural and national divides and to bridge the gaps that separate us and explore the ways that bring us together.
