About Me

My first airplane ride was at 6 months old, and I haven’t stopped moving since. I love meeting fellow travelers and sharing stories, adventures, cultures, and finding common connections—places you’ve been, people you’ve met, books you’ve read—and also sharing dreams for the future. I’m a nomad from birth. I was born in Reykjavik, Iceland, and moved away when I was four.

I usually tend to travel without too many set plans; I prefer to allow the Universe to guide me—I’ve had some amazing experiences and met lifelong friends that way! I’d rather be fully present in my current surroundings than forever seeking the next “must-see” or “must-do”.

One of my favorite things to do is cook with others, especially when I can learn new dishes or cuisines, and also share my favorites.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love getting to know people in their reality, learning about their culture, their food, their life/lifestyle, and how they experience the place they are living—and why they are there! Seeing a new place through someone else’s eyes is a joy, and definitely broadens (and deepens!) the experience.

Music, Movies, and Books

Neil Gaiman is my favorite author, and I do love that traveling from place to place gives me time to read, as there is not much of it in my current busy life.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

After living abroad for most of my adult life, I bought a one-way ticket to Bali and then traveled for a full year before finally moving home to Iceland, without any plans or time constraints, following the flow as it presented itself to me.

Teach, Learn, Share

I’m an avid knitter and crocheter, and can teach anyone how! I’m an exceptionally patient teacher/guide.
I also regularly teach candlemaking workshops in my studio—I’m an artist who makes sculptural candles from wax that I recycle. If you visit Iceland, you’re welcome to join one!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I would love to cook for you or together! I’m a pescatarian who eats 99% vegetarian at home, and can make a mean dal or pasta dish. ❤️
