About Me

CURRENT MISSION

conscious evolution

ABOUT ME

short:
i'm an open person, non-judgemental and adaptive

medium:
after 7 years of working in a very special class with autistic kids i've recently started a sabbatical. next to giving more space for spontaneous inner impulses than was possible while living within the time-structure of a job, not being in berlin for longer periods of time is what i'm having in mind for this year.
to begin i will, for the first time in this life, cross the atlantic ocean to breathe the vibes of the 'new world's' west coast in california.

detailed:
(attention: i actually looked inside for an honest answer - turned out to be quite intimate; i think i'm not always that deep. you'd have to ask my friends, they know better than i do - or just see for yourself over a random drink...)
i never really understood humanity; the things they do (to each other and the planet in general), the things they believe (religion, nations, ideas in general, ...) that make them to things to each other; why most people don't seem to understand that most of their quarrels are based on misunderstandings and their unwillingness to just be there and listen

so i set out on a journey to understand the human mind and emotions. since i wanted to end up in some sort of fun job afterwards, i did so studying (developmental) psychology, philosophy and sociology in the context of special education.
in order not to get lost in the beautiful world of theory, i started working in a class for autistic kids after my exams.

parallel to that my curiosity about the possibilities and limits of the human being and my interest in expanding the mind brought me on a spiritual path, first practicing yoga, then qigong and meditation under the guidance of a chinese grandmaster (who will be visiting LA in the last week of august, in case anyone's interested...)

despite all those deep existential questions meandering in my mind i haven't lost my ability to enjoy the abundance and simplicity of this life - especially in company with others, but also in meditative states that occur more and more often...

PHILOSOPHY

unity in diversity

openly embrace all that life throws at you (be it 'good' or 'bad') and everything will sort itself out according to your (aneeds.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

to get in touch with people and not feel as touristy while travelling

Interests

sound. mostly in the form of music that touches my mind, body and soul (generally involving distorted guitars, drums, synths and compassion), but also that of wind in the leaves, of rushing water. overtones of all kind.
the wide space opening in meditation.
silence.
lovely contact to people.

the soundscapes created by tool, isis, om, neurosis, karnivool, mouth of the architect, explosions in the sky, red sparowes and the likes, but also the music of bach, carbon based lifeforms and many more.

the writings of artur koestler, aldous huxley, gregory bateson, georg feuser, wolfgang janttzen, tom robbins, thomas pynchon, douglas adams, lao-tse, yogiraj gurunath siddanath and others.
