About Me

I'm a shy, easy-going young woman who will try pretty much anything (within relatively safe bounds) .I love dancing, drawing, cooking, baking, reading, going to museums, and learning. I just moved back to the Netherlands from California, where I lived for 14 years. I left four younger siblings, my mom and dad, two dogs, two horses, and one mean bunny behind on the California coast. I like hanging out and sharing my hobbies.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I need a place to stay from August 20-25. My school is having an introduction week then and I won't have a room 'till September. Hopefully you can help me out!

Music, Movies, and Books

Glen Hansard, Iron and Wine, Jack Johnson, Mason Jennings, Arcade Fire, Santana, Alicia Keys, Lauren Hill, Bruno Mars...

Spirited Away, Children of Men, Cinema Paradiso, A Cat in Paris, Avatar, and I'll add some TV shows like Blue Bloods, Grimm, Game of Thrones, and The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt...

Howl's Moving Castle, Dune, His Dark Materials, The Name of the Wind, For Whom the Bell Tolls, The Left Hand of Darkness, Chronicles of Earth-Sea, Catch 22, Hard-Boiled Alice in Wonderland, and I'll admit, romance novels...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've danced professionally. They weren't huge gigs, but it was a huge deal for me :)

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm hesitant to say I know enough about anything to teach anyone, but if you want I'll tell you what I think about dance. I love dance. I taught dance for the last two years with a focus on anatomically correct classical technique. I'm hoping to study movement sciences after biology.
I'm also interested in nutrition and like too cook and bake. We can swap recipes if you're active in the kitchen as well.
If you're a drawer we can spend some quiet time drawing together. I understand if people like to do their own thing, and I'm into that too, but drawing together is my favorite relaxing, low pressure way to hang out.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can definitely share some home-made baked goodies.
If you need a dance partner for anything (going out dancing, tag-team dance battle with sworn enemies, etc.) I'm happy to help.
We can probably share some good conversations, too. I like meeting new people and learning, so please tell me about your city, your culture, and your passions if you'd like!
