About Me
Hi there, my name is Bita! My family had just immigrated from Iran when I was born in sunny Los Angeles, California- which is my home base to this day! My first language was Farsi, and I still visit my family in Iran every year (currently praying for a Free Iran!). I’m trying to improve my Spanish!
In short, my story begins with the wonderful journey of a solo travel experience that sparked an adventurous spirit and fueled me with the inspiration to pursue a nomadic lifestyle. In my opinion, traveling is guaranteed learning and is very nutritious for the soul. It is conducive to knowing yourself, finding others along the way, and sitting with the charm of living here and now. I have traveled to Mexico, Costa Rica, Belize, Austria, Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Germany, United Kingdom, Netherlands, Italy, and Greece.
I love walking outside. I've trekked to Half Dome at Yosemite National Park, The Narrows at Zion National Park, Golden Ears in British Columbia, Chief Peaks in Squamish, Catalina Island's Trans Catalina Trail, Santa Monica Mountain Region's Backbone Trail, Desolation Wilderness at Lake Tahoe, and Sespe Wilderness at Ojai. Now, I'm preparing for some international treks to Machu Picchu and Base Camp at Mt. Everest in 2023.
In terms of values, my biggest one is to practice love as an active force that leads me into greater communion with the world. I believe in living simply, sharing resources, and prioritizing kindness. I love to dance, eat local, and braid my hair.
I’m new on Couchsurfing, so I don’t have a lot of references yet. If you’re interested in getting to know me, you can find me on Instagram @bitachips :)
