Overview
About Me
Frequent traveller, tippler, and teller of tales. I would love to hear yours over some local beer, wine or coffee.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love the CS philosophy. Travellers sharing their time, experiences and culture in each other's homes to really understand how another person lives and how their life shapes their worldview.
I love showing people my favourite local hangouts, sharing their first (or 100th) time seeing a wild koala or feeding a kangaroo. We have wildlife in our garden you can only get in our beautiful and unique country, we kayak with dolphins in a sanctuary by our house, and we enjoy feeding people lamb, vegemite, bbq, pavlova and weird Australian food.
We have so much to share with you!
Please don't request if you're not a traveler, don't understand and respect the CS lifestyle, and just want free accommodation.
You don't have to be a CS expert, but you do have to read the profile and send a personal request.
The code word is 'tacos'.
The code word is always tacos!
If you send me a mass sent request I will send you a standard email decline. It's pretty blunt and it contains links to things you could read to understand why you are being refused.
If we have met on our travels and I have asked you to stay please send me a message even if the dates are not available on the app. I will try to work something out.
Interests
Hiking, biking and climbing things. Kayaking with Port River dolphins and running with Hash House Harriers. Surfing... very kookily.
Music, Movies, and Books
There are books all over the house. Help yourself. You can stream your music through unlimited wifi.
There is no tv.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I saw the Pope naked.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm listening.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'm here for the experience not the accommodation so I won't arrive empty handed. Would you like something from duty free? Put in your order before I land!!
I'm handy in the kitchen, or you could suggest a local venue for me to take you out for a customary meal.
Too tired? Uber eats! Fellow shift worker? My 7 course special! (it's a 6 pack and a toasted cheese).
I will search out the local chapter of Hash House Harriers and you are welcome to join the drinking club with a running problem as a guest of CP. All confusion will be explained*.
* It won't.
I am the guest I request on CS. I am self sufficient, respectful of you and your lifestyle, and happy to work in with you and yours. I would love to hang out with you but I also understand that you have stuff to do.
I would love to ask you about your family and culture. What do you do for fun? How many of your school cohort went to college? What is the best thing about your neighborhood? What are your thoughts on your country's taxation, welfare and healthcare? How much is a cheap meal? How do you feel about immigration? Is this different to your parents or grandparents? What would you recommend I do while I'm here? Where can I get a good cup of coffee? All the stuff you can only ask a local.
As a fellow host I would love to house swap with you if I'm travelling or host you or your friends and family when I'm home.
