About Me

Husband, father, firefighter, luthier/builder of many things! I love building relationships and things that create joy in others.
Adventure, outdoor sports, fishing, and pushing my body through weightlifting, and mnt. biking, hiking ect.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love the idea of vacation to a culture vs a destination. Or better yet getting BOTH! What better way to do that than to stay with locals and being a part of the families in the area. My wife and I have hosted multiple strangers in our home (friends of friends) so thought we'd step it up a notch and join CS.

Music, Movies, and Books

Any music with and interesting Melody and good guitar. Love singer/songwriter, folk, bluegrass, rock.
I didn't read growing up but try to read a handful of books a year since I was 20.
Highlights... Adventures of Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn, The Power of Now, Anastasia series, Four hour body, 5 mistakes every investor makes.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Won "This Old House" reader remodel contest. Several thousand people entered the contest and we one first prize, getting featured in the Magazine. Spent 5 years restoring a rundown 1887 Victorian to become beautiful again.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love building and restoring things. I can give advice on home remodeling, furniture building, woodworking tools and machines.
I have been a firefighter for over 7 years and have a lot of stories about the crazy things people do, I could write a book someday.
I love to learn about culture, food, traveling, and anything you might have an expertise in!

What I Can Share with Hosts

If there is something in particular from my neck of the woods you're interested in I will do my best to bring it. We love to share stories, coffee food. I roast my own coffee so if you like coffee I could bring you some or teach you how to do it with a popcorn popper!
