Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To travel and meet friendly faces around the world.
ABOUT ME
Fun, outgoing, laid back person with a strong desire to live life to the fullest. Traveling the world and seeing how other countries live on a daily basis helps me attain that goal. I played 4 years of DI college soccer and was signed to a professional contract with Real Salt Lake of Major League Soccer after college. After being released, I pursued my Master's degree which I finished in August 2009. I am now an ALUM of Teach For America but continue to teach in low-income schools. I am an 8th grade math teacher at Democracy Prep Charter Middle School in Harlem, New York. Fighting everyday to close that achievement gap.
PHILOSOPHY
I honestly try to live life to the fullest. Every day alive is a great day, and its all about gaining new experiences. I am a nice, honest person who believes that good exists everywhere.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Living in New York City and space is limited so I can't offer any surfing but would love to grab a drink or pizza!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Have surfed both domestically and internationally. Surfed in Albuquerque, New Mexico en route to the Grand Canyon and also Washington DC. I surfed in Malmo, Sweden and in Lima, Peru en route to Machu Picchu.
Interests
I love anything active - sport, exercise, climbing, hiking, nature. Politics, social issues, travel, are best discussed over a beer.

Music, Movies, and Books
Recently finished Barack Obama's "The Audacity for Hope". Currently reading a book called "Primary Colors". I love all kinds of music. From oldies to current pop. "Education of a Wandering Man", "Into the Wild", "Of Mice and Men" - to name a few other great books. "A Thousand Splendid Suns" was a great summer read, too.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I was lucky enough to sign a professional soccer contract where I played in a game against the Houston Dynamo. Recently, I was able to get a tour of The West Wing of the The White House in Washington, DC. Seeing the Oval Office and Situation Room blew me away. I was also very humbled by Machu Picchu in Peru as well as attending games at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. From a travel perspective, I am very grateful to have experienced five different continents. Five down, two to go!
