About Me
Hello, I'm Becky. My favorite things to do are: Learn, grow, evolve, experience, give love to others. Above all else, I am a forever student of life, eager for more :).
I read voraciously. I've traveled extensively. I'm up to try anything at least a few times to be sure. I think exposure to different cultures, ideas, ways of thinking, living and being is key to expanding.
I was once a part of the "American Dream". I had a successful career as an architect, a big house and convertible while living in Miami. But something was off. I spend about 7 years soul searching and am now pursuing a career in psychology. I most fascinated by the hero's journey, moving from our head to our heart, how the body communicates, the importance of platonic touch and connection (I've done professional cuddling for 2 years). I love to write and have about 60% of a memoir written.
I used to be quite the adrenaline junkie. I still enjoy a good thrill, but I don't crave it nearly as much, and find myself to be happy spending a week straight writing with a good cup of tea as my companion :).
I can be extroverted (used to be a tour guide), but my deepest nature is introverted.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
The awesomeness of strangers never ceased to amaze me. When I was traveling especially, it was the connection with strangers that opened my eyes to a whole new world.

Music, Movies, and Books
Reading is a passion for sure. Mostly non-fiction, but I also like to read other people's favorite books. If I surf with you, I'll likely ask you yours :)
My favs:
The Dark Side of the Light Chasers by Debbie Ford
Drama of the Gifted Child by Alice Miller
The Body Keeps the Score by Bessel Van Der Kolk
Claim Your Power by Mastin Kipp
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Lived nearly 3.5 years out of my backpack traveling. The spontaneous & serendipitous connections are the best highlights, but in terms of adventures:
Discovering thousands of starfish while snorkeling off Moreton Island in Australia
Bathing with an elephant in Nepal, doing a rain dance at a puja
Motorcycling across Vietnam
The Pinnacles hike in Borneo
The bubbling springs on Jost Van Dyke in the BVI's
The view from Wainu Pichhu
Spontaneously renting a bicycle and joining a 50 mile ride in Mexico because I happened to be visiting the town
The World Naked Bike Ride (4x—- so fun!)
Teach, Learn, Share
For a long time I was racking up the certifications, trying to find myself (maybe you know the drill?). I'm not big on identifying with labels anymore, but I have been trained/certified in these areas:
Architecture
White water rafting/ Rock Climbing
Wilderness First Responder
Tantra Educator
Life Coach
Yoga Teacher
Cuddling
Tour Guiding
What I Can Share with Hosts
Bucket loads of stories. Open mind and heart. Compassionate non-judgement about taboo subjects.
Great hugs :).
