About Me
CURRENT MISSION
My mission is to avoid being transplanted by airplane from one location to the next... I want to travel slowly, to get to know people (and places) personally instead of only seeing them from the sky.
ABOUT ME
I am often described as a free spirit... and I identify strongly with this description. My veins course with creative energy: I express myself through visual art, poetry, dance, and journalling. My intentions are always aiming at happiness, fulfillment, and goodness, and my heart is always open to love. Always. When someone needs an ear, I will listen - whether it is a friend or a stranger that soon will be. I am currently seeking out my yoga teaching certification and pursuing a degree in psychology and philosophy that I may not use professionally but that has shaped my habits as a lifelong student in the pursuit of truth. I am seeking out my niche - finding my way - and allowing the universe to reveal it to me in its own time and in its own way. I am open to receiving whatever life has in store.
PHILOSOPHY
I try to live my life with humility, gratitude, and love, and without expectation, judgment, or assumption. I love freely and openly, and I learn readily and insatiably. I am a humanist and a hedonist. Please ask me what these terms mean to me - I do not subscribe to the traditional definitions in their entirety.
Interests
My interests include reading, writing (journalling, poetry, non-fiction), drawing, sculpting, painting, doing yoga, meditating, cooking, dancing, potlucking, and socializing.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: I love animated movies of all kinds - from Pinocchio to Totoro. I also enjoy comedies of all kinds - from Half Baked to I Heart Huckabees. And feel-good movies like Garden State and Lars and the Real Girl... and cult favourites like Rocky Horror... and fantasy movies like The Labyrinth and The Dark Crystal... and movies that make me think, like Waking Life.
Music: I have very eclectic taste in music... Bonobo, Beats Antique, Ray LaMontagne, G Love, Flux Pavilion, Five Alarm Funk, Delhi to Dublin, Hey Ocean, Opiou, Tune Yards, Pretty Lights, Sneaky Sound System, Exision, Bassnectar, Oka... etc. No country, though... not a fan of country...
Books: I love Kurt Vonnegut Jr's fiction (especially Slapstick), Isaac Asimov's non-fiction (The Solar System and Back Again is incredible), and the work of many poets. I like books that make me laugh while also challenging me intellectually.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Shambhala Music Festival in Salmo, B.C. It can't be explained, it can only be experienced, so I strongly encourage you to go.
