About Me

CURRENT MISSION

South Korea host (not shown on location but available nonetheless)

ABOUT ME

Hello! I'm 28 and I haven't nearly seen enough of this world.

I'm from Nova Scotia, I've lived here all my life. I'm the eldest son of seven kids and my backyard is kilometers of wilderness.

I'm on the other side of the world now, living and teaching in the city of Pyeongtaek, South Korea.

PHILOSOPHY

Positivity, rationality, honesty, dedication, expression, and respect are things that I strive for. And though I sometimes fail, life fortunately never fails to give me another chance, and for that I'm thankful.
Freedom is a two edged sword. It can liberate you from selfishness and rejuvenate your soul, but everyone has the freedom to starve as well. Its all about balance.
I do what I do with skill and sincerity, I am what I am not a fraud or a parody.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

The Couch Surfing network was first introduced to me by a roommate in Halifax, we agreed to host a couple of heavy metal enthusiasts from Germany. That was a great time and I helped them find a place in my hometown since they were passing through.
Couch Surfing saved me from a tricky situation during my first week of living in Korea and I'm eager to pay it forward by being a host while I'm here.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I stayed with Lawrence from Saint John as I was passing through New Brunswick, he was a great first experience with the network as a surfer.

Interests

My interests include painting, drawing, the martial arts, movies, cooking, hiking, video games, coffee, the cultural impact of the internet, politics, and sailing.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Anything by Stanley Kubrick, Brazil, Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, anything by Christopher Nolan, Metropolis, Ghostbusters, Alien, I could go on.
Books: Anything by Terry Pratchett, Hunter S. Thompson or Cormac McCarthy.
Music: I can enjoy any style or genre as long as there is skill and something new to say involved.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I jumped out of a plane... with a parachute. I learned how to sail from my Grandfather, since he was a submariner in the Navy. I've climbed a mountain with nothing but the sound of rain and prayers from the Buddhist temple in the valley below in my ears. I've got into fist fights with American soldiers but we were wearing boxing gloves.
