About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To explore strange new worlds...
To seek out new life and new civilizations...
To boldly go where no one has gone before.
ABOUT ME
I take photos with cameras - digital and film. I have a thing for high quality compact cameras like the Ricoh GR, Rollei 35, and medium format folders - but I'm notoriously bad about processing and sharing photos. I'm too much of a perfectionist for my own good.
I live in Davison, Michigan, and work as a mechanical engineer.
In 2010-2011 I lived in Skövde, Sweden, studying towards a master's in applied mechanics. I ran out of time and money before I was able to finish.
I'm a Lansing, Michigan native, former Red Cedar Log photographer, triathlete and 2010 MSU Mechanical Engineering graduate.
What do I do aside from photography? Mountain biking, bicycle touring, bikepacking, backpacking, motorcycling, and listen to eclectic music on my stereo.
PHILOSOPHY
I have a pretty open philosophy. I'm an engineer, that should tell you something...

Music, Movies, and Books
Well, I certainly love music!
Quite a bit of electronic music - techno, house, big beat, trip hop, downtempo, industrial, and more.
New wave, alternative, classic rock, etc. are up there, too. Not really into pop country or your basic top 40 pop music.
Also; jazz, rockabilly, blues, zydeco, ska, a little bit of early rap and hip hop (e.g. Arrested Development, Africa Bambaata, Beastie Boys), reggae, classical (particularly Holst, Wagner, and Beethoven), a little bit of classic vocal pop (you know Frank Sinatra, etc.)
Some of my favorites are the Beatles, Cream, Led Zeppelin, Jethro Tull, Talking Heads, Bob Marley, Brazilian Girls, Sam Cooke, Björk, Orbital, Fatboy Slim, the White Stripes, Louis Prima, Nine Inch Nails, Bauhaus, Smashing Pumpkins, the Cranberries, Pearl Jam, Rage Against The Machine, Kraftwerk, Taj Mahal, Traffic, and more than I can really list here.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have no crowning achievement yet besides earning my engineering degree, but living in Sweden for a year has got to be it if I had to say something.
Teach, Learn, Share
Hey, if you need a little help with bicycle repair, I'd be glad to help when I stay! Same thing with basic soldering, machine tools, and photography (film and digital - anything but large format).
