Music, Movies, and Books

Open to any kind of music, but I don’t go out of my way to listen to EDM or country. I do love going to shows though and my favorite ones are usually metal.

Currently reading: Kafka On the Shore. Some favorites: Jane Eyre, The Joy of X, The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks, All the Light We Cannot See, Beneath a Scarlet Sky, The Devil in the White City, and Love Does.

Movies- will generally be up for anything but horror.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hiking a new mountain always feels like an amazing thing to me-- I love the views and the feeling of being small in nature.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love teaching English to adult learners! I find that there is so much to learn from others when I teach English. Currently I volunteer as an ESL tutor in Chicago’s Chinatown and I love learning more about my own Chinese heritage as well as Cantonese/Mandarin.

I love learning about things that other people are passionate about. I eventually realized over time that I simply won't have the time/energy to invest in everything out there, so it's always fun to get brief snippets of experiences that others are passionate about. All that to say, I'm usually up for trying anything!

I’m also an avid rock climber and always willing to teach people if they want to try it!
