About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Teaching students, exploring lovely Colorado, trying new recipes, and crafting.

ABOUT ME

I am currently a special education teacher at a high school in Denver, Colorado. I love my job and education is one of my passions. I got my start in the Couchsurfing community when I was traveling to different countries and studying the role of play in education through the Watson Fellowship.

I am a bubbly and easy going person. I love having conversations with people and learning about the place that I am in. I laugh quite a bit and I am often lost because I like exploring. But let's be honest, you often find gems when you are lost. I love trying new foods and new ways of cooking. When I am not working, I enjoy hiking, sewing, sitting in the sun, and being with friends. I love Colorado and exploring this beautiful place!

PHILOSOPHY

I am also a believer in the power of people, even a single person, to create positive change.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I loved using CS to meet and stay with people when I was traveling. When I was living alone, I could host people, however I have a roommate now. I would love to meet up with people or go hiking or explore Denver!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have enjoyed staying with hosts and using CS as a way to meet people all over the world. The CS community has shown me so much love and I hope to always continue to share traveling experiences with new people.

Interests

I love being outside, whether it is through an outdoor sport or walking around. Hiking is absolutely one of my favorite things. I like sports and played volleyball for 10 years. Sewing and knitting are two of my favorite hobbies. I also love singing and dancing.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love reading all sorts of books. My favorite is "Shantaram."
I love comedic movies, but I will watch anything, unless it is scary. My two favorites are "Once" and "The Princess Bride."
In terms of music, I love folk the most, but I like a lot of different types.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My year spent abroad studying the role of play in educational philosophies through the Thomas J. Watson Fellowship. I am so thankful to have had the opportunity to explore exciting places and get to know new people, while studying something that I am so passionate about.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach people crafty knitting or sewing skills or some tap dance moves. I would love to learn a lot of things, such as playing piano or making preserves.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share a friendly attitude, book recommendations, and harmonizing tunes.
