About Me

CURRENT MISSION

"Fail, Try again, fail better." - Samuel Beckett. "Don't try. Do or do not." - Yoda.

ABOUT ME

I love coffee, rain and languages. I've been studying african linguistics & languages (bambara, fulfulde and kanuri) for the last couple of years and am on my way to being a german language teacher (which isn't directly related to my african studies really ;) ).

I am drummer in an austrian britpop band called suicide by accident and I constantly try to improve in playing the guitar.

I am into african food cause the spicier it gets, the more I like it and thanks to my studies I'm also kinda able to cook it myself :).

PHILOSOPHY

play to win. if there's nothing to win - just play!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Due to lack of understanding by my former flatmates I haven't hosted that much, but since I moved to a new flat with really cool also couchsurfing flatmates, I'm on the road to remedy that.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Each and every one of my hosts and guests have been outstanding personalities. I am really glad and happy I registered here :D.

Interests

The thing I'm interested in the most is languages. I've always been. Unfortunately this love for languages fights an epic battle against the dark soldiers of laziness, but I will end it in a good way soon :).

My second big love is music, although that kinda developed out of the circumstances. I started writing songs because I couldn't talk to most people back then but I somehow could talk to paper. Since I didn't want to write poems I had to sing them, so I taught myself playing guitar, which kinda worked.
A year later I was asked at a party if I wanted to join a band as drummer. I've never sat behind a drumset at that time, but I agreed and bought a set 2 weeks later and that's how I got into playing the most wonderful instrument in my opinion :).

Another major interest of mine is sport. I play soccer every sunday in Vienna (where by the way everyone is welcome to join ;) ). For watching I like american football and ice-hockey the most besides soccer.
