ABOUT ME

Best friends couldn't even begin to explain what we are. We're two girls that have had a connection with each other for many, many years. Many people consider us as one. Others think that we'd have to be twins. Either way, we're both incredible people. Everyone often refers to us as "Blali" or "white chicks". We feed off of each other, with laughter and kindness.

We haven't seen much of the world yet. Our international traveling addiction was created in the summer of 2009 when both of us ended our engagements/wedding plans and decided to do something for ourselves. It is amazing how this experience has changed our lives deeply. This summer (2010) we are taking a month off of work/school, and we're making our way around Europe. We think this is going to be our yearly tradition... who says someone needs to settle for less?

Nowadays, traveling is all that we can think about. We are a few weeks away from graduating with our bachelors degrees, but cannot wait to see what the future holds. We know that this little town we are from will not be our destination much longer.

We thrive off of meeting new people. One thing about our area is that it isn't too far from the beach. During the summer, people hate tourists... but, we love them. People from other cities/states and sometimes countries make their way to our local spots. It is always fun to meet someone new and hear about their perspectives of life (regardless of the age).

If you come to our area, get up with us. We have VIP to the biggest club around here (and the 7th best nightclub in the United States).

PHILOSOPHY

The lesson of life is never over.

Life is not about what you are given, it is what you make it.

Everything happens with purpose.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Well, we haven't done much participation yet.. we've only been members for about a week.. but we plan to do some couch surfing this summer, and maybe we'll get some surfers in our area!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Without having couch surfed or couch hosted, thus far the experience has been wonderful. People have been so incredibly helpful with us planning our summer trip. This is probably one of the best websites ever created!

Interests

We are always laughing, especially at ourselves or each other. We bring life and humor to every place we go! Also, we love trying new foods (cooking or ordering out). Food is an awesome way to experience something outside of your paradyme (are you one of those people who order the same thing every time when you go to a restaurant?). Of course, like we said above, we love cultures and languages. We would like to find some french pen-pals that'll help us out with that, since colleges around here do not offer the French language.

We are party girls! Going out for drinks and dancing can bring some of the most memorable nights ever. Most girls may not like the beer, but we do:). Beer and wine fans, so we can be classy or fun, whichever is necessary!

Being from the eastern shore, we love the beach (of course). Swimming, tanning, the smell of the ocean, the feeling of cool water against your summer hot skin.. nothing like it!

Although we may not sound like it, we are also very big dorks. We are into all kinds of art. We actually (as of right now) work together (could you have guessed anything different?) with children teaching them art/art history.

We also read a lot. This is anything from novels to poetry. Reading is a wonderful way to learn. The message within candid literature is always useful and can be applied to your own life.

Knowledge means the world to us. We both want to continue our education and receive our doctorate degrees. Knowledge is power and it is satisfying.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: Time Travelers Wife, Brave New World, The Things They Carried, Their Eyes Were Watching God, 1984, Hamlet, Othello, Her Fearful Symmetry, E E Cummings Poetry.

Movies: We love French cinema. Amelie, Priceless, Happenstance, 5x2.. any suggestions? Also, we are fans of comedies, such as White Chicks. Not really into chick flick movies with the happy, predictable ending.

Music: Rap, R&B, Rock, Classical, Pop, Pop-rock.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
