Overview
About Me
I'm a 37yo American living in the southeast of England. Before moving here, I lived in Germany for 6 years, and before that, in Spain for 2. I love travelling and exploring cities' paths less trodden, live music and interesting holes-in-the-wall where the food is way better than you'd expect.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I travel to London on occasion for events, gigs, etc. and would like to meet people in the city while I'm there. Eventually I'll make the move up there, and it would be nice to know some people, or at least some things to do.
Music, Movies, and Books
The Mars Volta, Gustav Holst, Bela Bartok, Clowncore, Death Grips, Radiohead, Bjork, Unknown Hinson, RTJ; when it comes to films I like the Kubricks and Fellinis but can also appreciate the epic unconscious art of Marvel and Pixar films; the books I like are all over a thousand years old, as I'm fantastically poorly read in modern literature.
Teach, Learn, Share
I teach lots of things. I started with guitar way back in the day, became a high school Latin teacher, and have been teaching English (extending into business skills like negotiation and public speaking) for the past several years. I speak German and Spanish -- fluently enough to get along in conversation but not entirely correctly -- so I can offer some linguistic insights into those as well.
