About Me

Hi folks! My name is Blake Glenn.

I've just graduated with a Bachelors of Arts in Criminology. Before I start my master's program for teaching, I am taking a five week trip to Germany, mostly by myself. I got a bug to go out and travel and experience more of the world, so I booked some flights and here we are!

I'm a super flexible guy. I am content sitting inside and talking all day, or constantly moving and experiencing new things. I love deep conversations about life and learning peoples' different points of view. I haven't traveled outside of the United States before, but I am sure ready to see what some other parts of the world have to offer.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am on Couchsurfing so that I can meet and learn from awesome people around the world. There are so many different ways of life and culture that all have something valuable to offer. This community seems like the perfect opportunity to learn these things and to help better myself as a person.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite music is probably anything from the 80s. But this changes! I dig most kinds of music (other than super hardcore scream-o), but right now I'm very into some older stuff like Prince, Toto, Queen, and things like that.
Movies... I love movies. My favorites are Donnie Darko, The Dark Knight Trilogy, basically all the Marvel movies, and Gone Girl.
I've just recently gotten more into leisurely reading, but my favorites are non-fiction self-help type books. I love things that I can easily relate to and apply to my life. My favorite book I recently read is Mindset by Dr. Carol Dweck.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

This may not be amazing to others, but to me, the most amazing thing I've done is raise my dog Zoey. She is a Border Collie/Australian Shepard mix. Adopting her has proven to be the best decision I've made.

Teach, Learn, Share

I believe I can teach people about small town life in America, the criminal justice system in America, criminology, how to lose some weight and improve health, and different methods to make life a little less stressful.

I would love to learn about various cultural views on big moral issues (abortion, death penalty, etc.), how people handle stress in different parts of the world, how people live day to day in different cultures, and different methods people use to learn.

I can share stories and experiences about things like weight loss, raising a dog, small town USA, criminology, and finding purpose in life.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I think the main thing I can share with hosts is a deep discussion of the things that matter most in life. I love having meaningful conversations about what people care about most and learning from what people have to share.
