Overview
About Me
I'm a student who loves to travel. Ever since I went on my first trip out of the US, when I was 7, I have been in love with travel. I have spent time in a lot of different parts of the world, and most recently spent 3 months in Nepal. I love doing everything I can to immerse myself in the surrounding cultures of each country, and am not afraid to put myself in foreign situations for the sake of learning.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
A friend of mine inspired me to take on methods that are out of the ordinary, in order to create new and unique experiences, while abroad. He suggested that I look into couch surfing, and recommended it as a great way to quickly learn about a particular culture, its language, and its people. I really love meeting new people and discussing the similarities and differences our two host countries. I am looking to do as my friend said and create new and unique experiences for myself, that extend beyond the normal vacation routine that a lot of people can easily fall into. I also very much wish to find local hotspots and lesser known points of interest, during my stay.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love classic rock music such as the Beatles, Pink Floyd, Allman Brothers Band, Led Zeppelin, Elton John, the Doors, and may others. That being said I love many other genres of music including alternative, House, rap/hip hop (east coast and west coast), and classical music (mainly guitar). My two favorite bands are Vampire Weekend and Sublime and my favorite hip hop artist is probably Biggie Smalls. I am also a huge fan of movies and have been getting more into learning about the film industry recently. I am a big fan of Tarantino films as well as Christopher Nolan movies. I am also a huge Star Wars fan (but not the Disney Star Wars) and am willing to talk for hours about any of the movies. I have seen a couple of Bollywood movies as well as movies from Nepal, and I enjoy watching and comparing the style to American and European movies. I am not the biggest fan of Bollywood but I am always willing to take a chance with a certain area's films.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I consider the gap year between high school and college to be one of my greatest accomplishments. I spent 3 months in Nepal learning Nepali, staying with families, living in a monastery, trekking, as well as several other activities. Since Nepal, I have been living in Florence, Italy taking classes about Art History, Italian language, and cooking at the local British Institute.
Teach, Learn, Share
Like I said before I really love getting to talk to people of different cultures and backgrounds than my own. Being able to compare and contrast our cultures enriches our experiences abroad, and allows us to open our minds up to all shades of life.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I love to cook, play instruments, and talk and I am willing to help out with tasks that are needed to be done.
