About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Live like there is no tomorrow, enjoy life, and see every place the great outdoors has to offer.

ABOUT ME

I love to work hard and have fun with whatever I am doing. I have a strong passion for the outdoors and exploring where I have not yet been before. I'm easy to get along with and enjoy being spontaneous. I recently finished my Masters Degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis and found a great job working at UW-Madison. My wife and I enjoy dabbling in home brewing and love to camp and watch football on the weekends. I also enjoy playing on my ultimate Frisbee team and volunteering for local political candidates.

PHILOSOPHY

I live my life like there is no tomorrow, because someday that will be true. Close friends have left me and I am fortunate for that because I appreciate life all that much more. Everything happens for a reason, I believe that very much.

Life and God have been good to me and I intend to not pay it back, but instead to pay it forward. (If you get my drift.)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have been away from Couchsurfing for awhile since my wife and I moved across the country. But now that we are settled in I'd like to get more involved and start hosting again (September. 2014).

In the past I have participated in many CS events, which I really enjoyed.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I surfed on my journey from Minneapolis to Seattle and had a GREAT time with it! While there I was in Seattle I was able to host a few wonderful people.

Interests

Outdoors <--Sums it up. Anything to do with being outside, I do it. I love getting to know new people of any age. Everyone has cool and unique stories and I love hearing all about them and then going out and making my own.

I also love sports, primarily the Packers and the Twins. I could watch and play football everyday all day. Baseball is a close second.

I enjoy good beer and wine. My wife and I enjoyed brewing our own home brews.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm a big fan of the Avett Brothers, O.A.R., The Wood Brothers, Tom Petty, and James Taylor.

As for movies, Shawshank Redemption, Office Space, What Dreams May Come, Animal House, Blue Brothers, Casablanca are among the top.

BOOKS: Marley and Me, Between the Bridge and the River, Wisdom of our Fathers, Where the Red Fern Grows, Einstein's Dreams

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Skydiving, and I want to go again. I am knocking down all the things on my "to-do" list. I took a scuba diving class in college. Also a curling class, which was a ton of fun.

I once met Reggie White and Ray Nitschie because our tire was low on air. If you're a Packers fan, then you should know who they are.

The best thing I have ever done was gone to South Africa and traveled the country. It was absolutely amazing and the people were great. I want to go again soon.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have a lot of learning yet to do. I want to travel, see America, the World, everywhere. I am very fortunate that I even have that possibility at all. I think we should all use the gifts our creator gave to us to make a difference, have a good time, and love life.

Countries I’ve Visited

Costa Rica, Iceland, Mexico, South Africa

Countries I’ve Lived In
