ABOUT ME

Ever since studying abroad in Denmark in 2011 I've been trying to travel as much as possible. I'm obsessed with the Nordic countries and Scandinavian culture but I really want to see as much of Europe as I can.
I've just completed my postgraduate masters in Publishing studies and work in Glasgow whilst being a freelance editor and columnist.
I am a vegetarian/pescetarian, love cooking for people and will never stop offering you tea! I love rock music, British comedy, writing and reading. I hope to be an editor one day, currently I only work freelance, whilst also writing articles for numerous online magazines.
I am really sociable, I love meeting new people and I love hearing all about other cultures. Other than a slight penchant for swearing I am very polite. I like engaging with people, hearing about their lives and setting the world to rights over wine or tea.

PHILOSOPHY

Always try to say yes and push yourself to have new experiences. Treat others as you would want to be treated. Live your life to the fullest, whatever that means for you, because you only live once.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have previously couchsurfed in Gothenburg, Copenhagen, Rovaniemi, Kuopio and Helsinki. I have hosted numerous people whilst in Stirling but am currently moving around a lot so it's not always possible for me to host.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have had the most wonderful couchsurfing experiences, everyone who has ever hosted me has repeatedly made me marvel at the kindness of strangers. My experiences have been nothing short of positive, and the people I've met have been kind, generous and welcoming.

Interests

I like getting into deep conversations for hours on all the big topics, I'll debate politics, culture and lifestyle for hours on end. I love hearing other peoples opinions, because sometimes you can learn more about the world from one person than from all the books you can read.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I couldn't possibly choose one! Swimming in Kuopio lake in Finland at 6am. Hearing and seeing the glaciers in Iceland - not to mention enjoying the amazing Runter! The geysers in Yellowstone and the beauty of Yosemite. The Berlin Wall and the Berlin bears. Helsinki winters, nothing like a sauna followed by a cigarette outside in -28 celsius!! Frozen Swedish seas in January. Amager strand beach at 6am and watching the sun rise after a night out. The Saunas in Budapest. The still beauty of lying in the sun and relaxing on Mljet island in Croatia. The wild beauty of Scotland from the top of Dumyat.
